Synopsis

ELEMENTS
Elements is a unique exploration of our own life cycle and our connection to nature through the four elements of Air, Water, Fire & Earth. Through dance, projected visuals and soundscape this visual, aural and physically sensual feast is a reminder that we are intrinsically connected to our environment.

Biography


Tina Evans is an independent performer and choreographer whose work spans dance, physical theatre, film and music video. She created Polarity for the 2011 Melbourne Fringe Festival upon being awarded an Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship, enabling her to visit Antarctica in 2010 for creative research on the movement of Antarctic ice. She also presented Body of Ice at the Australian National University’s ‘Antarctica Festival’ in Canberra (2011). Her past choreographic work Toys explored child sex trafficking and was presented in Perth, prior to a sell-out season at the 2009 Adelaide Fringe Festival. She recently danced with Tony Yap Company in Winter Filament (2011) and performed in hybrid-arts film Elements (2011). She has worked with Interior Theatre, Kum Quat Theatre and Kay Herm Physical Theatre and has performed at The Famous Spiegeltent, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and The Place in London. Her film credits include The Red Balloon (2011), Through A Doorway with a Baseball Bat (2007) and Cashback (2006). Her music video credits include clips for Da Vinyl Intervention (2011), Cisco Caesar (2011) and The Bedroom Philosopher (2009). Tina has a background in dance, theatre, design, creative events and writing.
Tina graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2003. She currently trains in contemporary dance, physical theatre, acting and Butoh. In her youth Tina trained extensively in ballet and contemporary dance in Adelaide and performed for 4 years with the SA Childrens Ballet Company.
